Slip-resistant profiles fixed to the nose of each step to mark the edge and protect it from wear.
The edge of a step takes the most wear and is where a foot is most likely to slip. A nosing profile gives that edge a slip-resistant surface, protects the tile or stone from chipping and makes each step easy to see.
The NEXUS profile is chosen from the thickness of the floor covering, the shape of the step, the width of tread to be covered and the colour — including the difference in light reflectance value (LRV) between the nosing and the tread where the project asks for a visual contrast.
