The fishtail is built into the wall: its split tail is embedded in reinforced concrete or solid blockwork, and its pin or up-and-down tabs engage the panel edges. The up-and-down type supports the panel above and restrains the panel below at the same horizontal joint, so one fixing does both jobs.
